2001 Mark started his own company “Cosmic Orchestra” and began focussing on the German TV market, where he got involved into writing music for documentaries. Until now this resulted in writing music for approximately 80 documentaries, commissioned by German Public Broadcasters “WDR” and “SR” (ARD).
In 2005 Mark got involved in writing music for Dutch TV shows. Numerous Shows for “SBS6”, “NET5” and “Veronica” followed. Later he got the opportunity to do several Shows for “RTL” . “Succes Verzekerd”, “Life4You” and the award winning show (“Gouden Televizier Ring”) “De TV Kantine”
For the Dutch Public television (NPO 1 & 2) Mark Scored the music for Popular TV Shows like: “The NOS Annual Overview”; “The Instituut”, “Who do You Think You Are” 2019 / 2022 and “Impractical Jokers” (Blazhoffski). BNN / VARA.
Since 2015 Cosmic Orchestra expands into feature films via several short movies like the short film “ All There Is”, for which Mark won the award for best score at the Barcelona Enmut Film Festival.
In 2017 Mark and his team in collaboration with Amp Amsterdam, composed and produced the music for Holiday on Ice (Season 2017-2018).
He also teamed up with Rico Derks, to compose the music for the feature film: “Baba Yega The Movie” (2018) and “ The Ghastly Brothers” (2021)
Also in 2021 he was also commissioned by the AMBC ( American Battle Monument Commission) to write a Hymne for the Margraten War Cemetery. Performed and Recorded by the Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland.
For the future Marc is planning to build upon his film scoring and composing career.
